River Schoolers Learn “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” in Spanish

The new school year is off to a great start and the children are enjoying a variety of enrichment activities as part of River School’s engaging, play-based curriculum. Music class with Mr. John have provided children in all of our classrooms with the opportunity to express themselves through music and movement. Miss Isabella started teaching Spanish lessons to our Giraffes (4-5 year olds) and they loved her first lesson. In addition to getting to know Miss Isabella, the children learned the song “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” in Spanish, and demonstrated everything they learned as they labeled body parts in Spanish on a life-size outline of one of the students.

In addition to all of the meaningful lessons planned by River School’s creative teachers, our preschool children will begin art, chess, and piano during the month of October! Infants, toddlers and preschoolers are looking forward to learning and growing with their friends during each of our enrichment activities and student-centered projects during the 2016-2017 school year.
