Welcome to the River School Blog!
Monday February 16th was President’s Day and while we didn’t have school that day we did spend time learning about the Presidents leading up to it. We asked the children questions such as “who is the current President?” and “where does the President live?” Some of what we taught really stuck because we had at least one parent reach out to let us know how much her child had learned. Her son, who is in the Monkeys’ Class, came home and knew that George Washington was the 1st President and Barack Obama was the 44th. A different day, the same child approached his mom and asked, “Mommy, did you know there are 3 types of matter? Solid, liquid, and gas.”
We love teaching and it makes it even more rewarding when we get feedback that our students are sharing what they are learning with their families. We can’t get enough of stories like these from our River School families so don’t feel shy to send us a little note!
