Welcome to the River School Blog!
River School was started to “provide a nurturing, all day, year-round Childcare and Preschool program for the best possible start in life, with an environment that is nurturing, yet stimulating and respects each child’s individuality.”
At a quality early education school (and we have three – two in Jersey City and one on the Upper West Side) your child will develop skills and abilities to prepare him or her for elementary school. Here are some benefits of early childhood education at preschool or a child care development center.
Preschool has much to offer young children. At River School, our goal is to help children gain self-awareness, social skills, knowledge and curiosity about the world around them.
River School’s Early Childhood Education programs nurture your child’s creativity with block play and paint, clay and other materials. Your child learns independently and in a group, under the nurturing eye of at least two teachers.
Sing-alongs, science experiments, cooking, dramatic play and storytelling are the stimulating building blocks of your child’s early childhood education. The classrooms are designed with learning centers for exploration, to allow freedom of movement, and to provide a variety of experiences.
At preschool and child care development centers, opportunities are limitless. Children are allowed to learn the basics of deduction and reason at their own pace through exercises like learning how leaves fall off trees in the autumn, or how mixing colors brings out something new.
River School Early Education & Preschools offer tours for families at our Upper West Side NYC campus and both Jersey City Preschool locations. Please feel free to drop in or schedule a visit! Classes are still forming at our Upper West Side and Jersey City campuses and we’d love to talk to you about how our pillars of nurturing, stimulation, and respect can make all the difference in your child’s life.
