Happy Holidays from River School

At River School, we celebrate the diverse cultures of our student body every day. We love that we have families celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa and we would like to wish everyone happy holidays. We kicked off our holiday season with our annual Bells Concert; as the Preschoolers sang and played various types of bells for the younger children and families. The 3 & 4 year olds were amazing! We look forward to another year full of learning and adventure at River School in 2015!

We have openings in our New York City preschool program! If you enroll today your child can start as early as tomorrow.

River School Gives Back – Room to Grow

River School children and their families took part in a Book Drive on behalf of Room to Grow, a not for profit charity that assists families with children born into poverty from infant up to three years old.

The children collected 150 books and helped wrapped them so they could be delivered in time for the holiday season. Each class even made their own book to give to the children from Room to Grow! The children learned about sharing, and helping those that are less fortunate. The older children really grasped the concept of giving as 3 year old Jack put it, “we’re wrapping these books for children who do not have as many as we do!”

You can learn more about Room To Grow and how you can get involved by visiting their website.

If you want your child to take part in all of the learning experiences River School has to offer, we have spots available in our Manhattan nursery school. Enroll today and your child could start tomorrow.

River School Students Enjoy Native American Music

As part of our Music Program and the children’s exploration of Native American Music, all our River School children from our infants all the way through to and including our preschoolers enjoyed learning about the dynamics of big and small sounds, as they played on the gathering drum and with rain sticks.

Mr. Cliff from the Native American Red Hawk Cultural Center of New York visited with us at our Upper West Side and Jersey City locations. The children enjoyed gathering around the big drum while everyone helped keep the beat to the songs and dances he performed and then we joined him to dance and song.

If you are looking for a great school for infants or preschoolers that offers outstanding extracurricular programs as part of their everyday curriculum in either NYC or Jersey City, River School has openings for your child now. Your little one will take part in our music program and many other activities like this one on a daily basis. Enroll today and your child will be learning more tomorrow!
