Earlier this month, we took all of our little River Schoolers to Norz Hill Farm in Hillsborough, NJ to go pumpkin picking! The children really enjoyed walking through the huge fields full of pumpkins, and were especially excited to pick their own. It isn’t always easy for a preschool in NYC to make it to a farm for pumpkin picking, but we felt it was important that all of our students got to experience nature. They saw all the farm animals, (including a zonkey!) rode on a haywagon, and picnicked on the farm. This trip was a huge success and we look forward to seeing your pumpkin carving creations in preparation for Halloween.
At River School we know that learning doesn’t end for your children when they graduate from our pre k program. We’re the first of many steps, and we want to make sure they continue on to get the best education possible. We had a very special guest speaker, Robin Aronow from School Search NYC.
She spoke to the parents about admission to private and public schools in NYC. It can be very a daunting task dealing with the New York school system, and having a speaker like Ms. Aronow come in was extremely beneficial. The parents were engaged and eager to learn the tips and tricks necessary to become school savvy about admissions. They came out saying they learned a lot, and appreciate all the parent workshops River School provides!
